About Us

Introduction
I am humbled to introduce our football team; KATANA FC which I am always proud of. Surrounded by friends who are crazy about football; I’m not surprised that the team is where it is now. Basically the boy’s life revolves around 3 things; Main Bola, Tengok Bola, Cerita Bola…and that’s about it. Awesome! Haha. Futsal team grows like mushroom around KL. Basically every Tom, Dick & Harry has a Futsal team.  We took it a notch higher by forming an 11aside team and have been playing every Sunday without fail since Feb 2010. The boys even demanded to have matches during the fasting month after Berbuka Puasa. Apa ke gila diaorg ni?? But by saying that, it shows what type of committed players I have in the team. Their love for the game is priceless. It’s an honor to play alongside all these boys. When i’m old, fat & lazy, I want to look back in life and to be able to point out to my team photo and say, “I used to play for KATANA FC…we had a whole lot of fun playing football together”. I guess it’s every boy’s dream to have his own football team. I’m pretty much living mine.

Definition
KATANA defines the ancient weapon/sword used by Japanese Warriors known as The Samurai. Among the attributes of Samurai that is implemented into the team is; Fearless, Quick, Strong & Devoted. These 4 attributes are known as ‘The Way of a Warrior’. In balancing such aggressive attributes, Katana FC players are always reminded to; “Respect the Referee, Respect the Opponent & Respect the Team Mates”. The Team believes in being humble while playing at their best. But why so serious while playing football when you can Goof around and have fun. We have names printed on our jerseys such as; Dara, Alongso, Ekey Iesta, Checkmate, Lover & Kingstone. I guess that explains the humor in KATANA FC.
The team Motto is:- “Raise the Sword with Pride & Glory

2nd Batch Of Katana FC

How It All Started...
Katana FC was founded back in 2010 by Ambee Zamri. It all started with his friend, Khushairi Lasar aka Pitt who needed a few players to play for his team; Ampang Kosas FC because they were short of players. Ampang Kosas FC is a well known team with years of experience in the Local League. Ambee agreed to send 5 players (futsal players from Team Cap Ayam) to play alongside 6 other players from Ampang Kosas FC. None of the 5 players had football boots and they all played with their futsal shoes. The match ended with a victory on our side; 4-0. Pitt saw the potential and suggested us to form our own team. To be honest, we weren’t confident to form a team because we were short of players and experience. However, Pitt was determined to help us to form one and introduced us to the organizer; Ref Shah.
We randomly gathered our group of friends and managed to get 11 players to play for our very first  11-aside match. At that time, we weren’t confident in forming a serious team. We wore random black t-shirts and called ourselves; Team Cap Ayam. We were ‘Ayam’ and lost all our matches in the first 3 months. Some lost faith in the team and left, while some stayed and became the core of something great known as KATANA FC.
To ‘cleanse’ the team from its losing streak, we chose to change our Kit from Black to White. It worked! For a start, the goals were coming and we started to win matches. Confidence grew and a REAL football team was formed. The players were so excited with their form and chose to buy jerseys. Where else; Kelantan Mari! Our very first kit was Barcelona FC Away Jersey. We changed the team’s name from ‘Team Cap Ayam’ to KATANA FC. As the team grew throughout the years, now we are confident enough to customize our own Kit and wear our Orange & White Jersey with our heads up high. We still maintain the White color in our jersey because it brings us luck :p

“We may not be the best team in the world,
but we are the best team in the world to be part of”
